Meeting Location Field Update - Zoho CRM

1. What’s New?

Zoho CRM has introduced a feature that lets you clearly mark where your meetings will take place. Whether a meeting is online, at your office, or at a client’s location—you can now choose the right option every time

2. Why This Matters

Before this update, you could only mark a meeting online using a checkbox or type the location manually. It wasn't very organized. Now, with this explicit choice, it's easier to:

  • Keep your meetings tidy and sorted

  • Find meetings by location quickly

  • Create better reports about your meeting types

3. The Three Options You Can Choose

When scheduling a meeting, you’ll now see a dropdown (called a “picklist”) with these three options:

  • Online – When you’re hosting the meeting virtually using platforms like Zoho Meeting or Zoom.Zoho Corporation

  • Client Location – When the meeting is somewhere convenient for you and the client (e.g., client’s office or a cafĂ©).Zoho Corporation

  • In‑Office – When the meeting happens at your own office.

4. How the Feature Adjusts the Meeting Form

Depending on your choice:

  • Client Location or In‑Office:

    • You can add the exact place (e.g., room number or building).

    • You can mark the meeting as "all day."

    • You can set it to repeat (e.g., daily, weekly).

  • Online:

    • You’ll pick the meeting tool (like Zoho Meeting or Zoom).

    • The fields for location, all-day, and repeat are automatically hidden—they're not needed

5. Customizing the Options

If your company never holds online meetings, you can remove "Online" from the list of options. Likewise, if you only ever hold meetings at your office, you can remove “Client Location.” The form will automatically hide the unnecessary fields

Don’t worry—you can always add any of the three options back later, as needed. Just note: you cannot create more than these three (e.g., no "On-site" or "Hybrid" added later).

6. Easier Setup for Admins

A new Preferences tab helps administrators manage which online meeting tools (providers) are available. Admins can turn options on or off without going to the Zoho Marketplace. Once a tool is enabled, individual users just need to authorize their own account to use it.

7. A Few Handy Notes

  • In automations like workflows or blueprints, the system will default to Client Location when scheduling a new meeting

  • If you schedule meetings through Calendar bookings, offline meetings will default to Client Location, while online meetings stay as Online

  • These updates are available for all users across all data centers, except for India's data center (IN DC).
