Three Column Update-Zoho Forms
🆕 Introducing Grid Fields in Zoho Forms
As of June 2025, Zoho Forms now supports Grid Fields—a powerful new way to display related input fields side by side. This update improves both form design and the user experience 🧩.
🛠️ The Problem:
Until now, Zoho Forms only supported a single-column layout, which often resulted in long, space-consuming forms. Many developers struggled to create sleek, compact UIs that minimized scrolling while still collecting essential data.
💡 The Solution: Grid Fields
With Grid Fields, you can now place up to three fields in a single row, making your forms look cleaner and more professional.
✅ What Is a Grid Field?
Column-based layout: Choose from 1, 2, or 3 columns instead of the standard vertical stack.
Drag and drop: Easily arrange related fields like “Phone + Email” or “Degree, Experience, Employment Status” side by side.
🚀 Why It Matters:
Improved readability: Grouping related fields helps users complete forms faster.
Better UX on mobile: Reduces unnecessary scrolling, especially helpful on smaller screens.
Professional appearance: Creates well-organized, less overwhelming forms—reducing form fatigue.
Key Features:
- Flexible layout options: Select from 1, 2, or 3 columns.
- Drag-and-drop simplicity: Move fields within and outside the grid easily.
- Expandable sections: Collapse or expand parts of the form to keep things tidy.
- Field limits: Up to 50 Grid Fields per form, Max of 30 fields within each Grid Field
- Supported field types: Most standard fields are supported. (Excludes grids within grids, subforms, payment fields, etc.)
💼 Use Case Ideas:
- Contact Forms -> 2-column -> Display Phone & Email together
- Job Applications -> 3-column -> Collect Degree, Experience, Location in one row
- Customer Surveys -> Grid with expand/collapse -> Cleaner sections & easier navigation
✅ Bottom Line
The Grid Field update in Zoho Forms changes the game for form creation:
- Sleeker, more polished design
- Enhanced usability across devices
- Highly customizable layouts
